Guest blogger: Sharron from Looking Fab At Any Age

Sharron from looking Fab At Any Age chooses her favourite piece from Spring 11

Over the coming weeks we have asked some of our favourite bloggers to write a post about their favourite Isabella Oliver pieces. Today is the turn of Sharron from the wonderful blog, Looking Fab at Any Age. We love Sharron’s blog because not only does Sharron provide us with daily insightful fashion posts, but she also offers great advice and style tips.

Although we all get excited about shopping, choosing your perfect spring and summer essentials is not always the easiest thing to do. I have been trying to build up a wardrobe of basic staples that can be mixed and matched to create a range of different outfit options for some time now, and although there are certain key pieces that stylists would wax lyrical about, and insist that you purchase, you have to take what you can from the advice given by the experts, and either adopt or change certain items to fit your own lifestyle.

There is no point buying a classically cut Little Black Dress if you don’t work in an office, as you won’t get much wear out of it and for somebody like me who works from home and still has to do the school run twice a day, you need to go for a more casual looking option, that not only look perfect in the playground, but also dresses up easily with heels, scarves and statement jewellery if you have a meeting, or are popping into town to meet the girls for a coffee.

As a “Mum on the Run” my perfect piece for spring, summer and beyond, has to be the Everyday Tunic Dress. There are so many ways to style this stand alone piece that make it perfect for my lifestyle. For an evening meal or girls night out, I would dress it up with opaque tights, shoe boots, leopard print clutch and chunky bangles. For simple daytime chic it can be worn over either skinny jeans or leggings with ballet pumps or plimsolls. It will layer perfectly over classic long sleeve neutral coloured t-shirts in colder weather, and under a classic trench coat, leather biker jacket or boyfriend cardigan for spring. If you are looking to embrace current trends, dress it up for this seasons 70’s vibe by wearing over a pale wash flared jean and and wedges.

The A-Line styling makes it the perfect choice to embrace all body shapes. It will skim the tummy of an apple shaped figure and the hips of a pear shape, as well as adding volume to boyish frames. Whats not to love?
