Hi Baukjen here. Yesterday, after leaving the office to rush home, our car went dead at the traffic lights. During rush hour. With all the cars behind us in a single lane. Not good. We looked at each other and both realised at that moment that we had run out of petrol. And then we both looked right where there was a petrol station, a dash of luck within an unlucky situation. We’re laughing about it today but last night while Geoff popped over to the petrol station and I stayed in the car, I felt mortified. I have never before avoided everyone’s angry stares as much as I did then while buses and cars had to manoeuvre in to the opposite lane with incoming traffic. But I still feel lucky we broke down next to a petrol station, though I don’t recommend it!
