Alice Instone’s show: The House of The Fallen Women

Hi, Baukjen here. Last night Geoff and I attended the private view of Alice Instone’s exhibition: The House of The Fallen Women at Quintessentially Soho in London. Alice Instone is a good friend of mine and a talented artist whose paintings in this exhibition depict various powerful women throughout history, as represented by women today. I was honoured to be one of her sitters, representing Venus and Lady Macbeth (you can see the image of me as Venus below). I was in good company as some of the other sitters included Lorraine Candy, Jo Wood, Alice Temperley and my friend, Grace Saunders. The exhibition is brimming with incredible paintings, though I think my favourite is Guinevere (sat by Laura Bailey).

It was a lovely evening though a little strange to have strangers approach me and say they recognised me from the paintings! After the exhibition, Geoff and I went to Soho House with a group of friends for dinner – a perfect way to round the evening off.

We wish Alice all the best with the exhibition which is showing at Quintessentially Soho until November 12th.

Quintessentially Soho, 1 Greek Street, London, W1D 4NQ. Open Monday -Friday 9.00-12.00 and Saturdays 16.30-19.00
