The time when playful tees were only for teenagers are long gone, now we all adore print / fun tees to wear with our blazers, jeans and skirts. If you haven’t got any in your wardrobe, now’s the time to get into the look.
This season, two of our designs have been created by Charlotte Edey, a young talented London based illustrator who is a graduate from Chelsea School of Art and Design.
“The design process was really driven by how open the brief was. In the office and sunny gardens of Isabella Oliver I got through about two sketchbooks of ideas in the same amount of days, books full of shoes, ribbons, girls, bags, patterns and colours, and went from there. It was that freedom that kept both the process and consequently the designs so exciting.
I really enjoy the simplicity and suggestion of both the designs- with just the imprint of lips and the quick brush stroke of the silhouettes, emboldened by the strong, warm colours. Of this design in particular it was so instant; lipstick, kiss, scribble, mwah! The second was a splash of paint playing with the formality of the Queen’s guard. And they hold that spontaneity; it’s fun, feminine and natural with just a dash of patriotism.”
